In my role with Catapult Leaders, I get the opportunity to speak with highly accomplished professionals each week.

Today, I am fortunate to bring to you a great conversation I had with John C. Peoples. I’ve known John since the beginning of his corporate career. I could tell right away, from the moment I met him, that he was an amazing talent and would be going places.  John went on to become president & general manager of SC Johnson in Canada. He was also a Vice President of Canada, Latin America, and Western Europe for Merck. (See more about John here.)

I shot some really important questions at John for this interview. These were questions that I was given in a survey conducted among more than 500 Black students in college.

My questions included, “What do employers look for most when they’re trying to hire for entry-level positions?” and “What were the one or two most impactful things that help you get that first great job?”
